Mac mini with Monterey, one app that is pinned to the dock every few days removes itself from the dock.

Always the same app, all other pinned apps are unaffected.

The app is Skylums Luminar Neo.

Done a google search but couldn’t find anything specific that matches this behaviour.

Oh that's interesting, the only time I've had an app disappear from the Dock when made sticky is when the app was uninstalled. Otherwise, I've not seen that happen.

Do you know if the app is updating itself every few days automatically, if they are doing the update by uninstalling and re-installing the app, that might explain this.

No it’s not, updates are manual. That may explain some of the disappearances but not the others.

Have you actually dragged the app to the dock or are you just seeing the "recently used" item at the right end of the dock?

To pin it to the dock I open the app right click on the dock icon then options then pin to dock
It will stay pinned for a couple of days then remove itself

I've never done it that way. I select the app in the Applicaions folder by left clicking, holding and drag it to where I want it on the Dock and drop. This can also be done from Launchpad in the same manner.

That's the way I have always done it as well and never lost an app from the dock. I always assumed that was the way everybody did it.

However you Pin the app to the Dock, it should not disappear. Interesting that the disappearing trick only affects one specific app.

That tells us that it's something the app is doing.
