A nice idea though, I do not think that I have seen a google widget with the same functionality, it always closes the dashboard and opens a web browser.

A nice idea though, I do not think that I have seen a google widget with the same functionality, it always closes the dashboard and opens a web browser.

Makes sense. I don't want to browse web pages peering at a fiddly dashboard widget. Leave it to Microsoft to completely ignore established workflow on other OS's as well as their own.

Perhaps you are right. I even have that finder plugin that searches google via spotlight (results show up as bookmarks). I don't seem to ever use it; if I want to search google, I find my way to google.com :)

I find I do exactly the same. I've tried Google widgets and simply never use them. And using Firefox's search box it's even easier.
