Another New Trick

I recently found this in MacFormat, one of the GREAT Mac magazines. Did you know that you can drag folders onto the Finder button bar (not the Sidebar, the top button bar across the top of the Finder window) and they will stay there, providing you another one click access to your favorite folders?

Here is how it works. Navigate to a Finder window showing your favorite folder. Click and drag that folder up onto the button bar. Hold it there for a while, don't just drop it right away. When you do drop it, it sticks!

Neat - I have put my Home folder there.

Another brilliant tip from you mac57! I'm always navigating to my iTunes Music folder for one thing or another and this is perfect for me.

Its nice, but what advantage is there to it over putting it on your sidebar?

Hold Command (Apple key) and then drag it out of the sidebar as if it were an icon on the dock. It will "Poof!" away


I wanted to ask again, since I didn't really get a response the first time, but what advantage does this feature have over putting those same folders in your sidebar?
