That is amazing because my iMac is EXTREMELY quite, i did not think it could get much quieter without the addition of liquid cooling.

Once again, Apple has not ceased to amaze me. :)

It really is nice to live with a Mac :) Now, I believe I truly understand.

i like the fact that it isn't a dome, I had a Brita water filter in my frige, and it was round, holy crap, i could not even get more then one other milk or juice carton in there, pain in the but (no doubt i don't have that anymore. Also I was forced to buy a apple care plan because if one thing breaks inside (besides he RAM or Airport), you have to replace the whole thing.

Did anybody notice really bad clicking towards the end of the keynote? The first time it happened, i almost went in to shock, because my speakers were up to almost -10 db. < (join the fight for different smiles)

Apples servers are getting slammed.

And if you don't like the smilies, don't use them.

I don't think it is the servers, because i played the same part twice, and it happened at the same time.

And i am waiting for the smiles to be changed so that I can freely express my smily self!

What is a revolution? The iMac, or us agreeing?

iMac? No.

I liked the old iMac. I like the fact that it sports a G5 processor but its just plain ugly to my eye.The all is one idea was sorta bad that way they designed it. I like the fact that it does have a nice LCD but I JUST DON'T LIKE IT. Acutally, I don't like the whole new style apple is taking on their new revision of products. Like, now I hate the look of the iPod. Now please ! people, please respect my opinion and don't start getting on my case on how Macs look or How i am a "windows" user and those little fanboys going after me sayin DOZ USER! WINDOWZ BLOWZ! It is true I use both machines because I perfer to get the best of both worlds.

Conclusion: It is nice that is has a fast processor but I HATE THE DESIGN! Its just ugly. Everything else is nice though.

Why is it ugly?

Back up your facts, beret.

Wow, a lot of voices for one day. This new iMac is indeed pretty controversial.

It looks good, but it doesn't really impress me that much, compared to, say previous iMac or G4 Cube. Apple has been famous for innovation. But this design is not innovation. It's immitation. This all-in-monitor design has been out there for some time.

Previous desk lamp iMac was truly innovative, destined to be a classic.

The new iMac is nevertheless a good deal. 17" LCD and G5 processor for under $1300? I have never expected it to come down this low. At this price it can definitely compete with cheaper PC, and can kick their butts.

It comes with 2 Firewires, but not a Firewire 800.

I've gotten use to it, I think it looks cooler than the other model. It's so cheap too. G5, 17" LCD, and it's cool and space saving. wow, $1300. It's a eMac compeditor, if I could I would folk out the extra $$$ for it in favor of the eMac.

I thought most of the apple products when they first came out were "ugly". But in just a few days, they grew on me, and grew on me, until i just had to get one. Trust me i will happen to you ;)

I think the look of the design looks very good, but when i think about it, there could be some little things that would annoy me if i were to have one.

How the cables are set up on the back of the monitor. If you plug in a few devices into the back of the monitor, and tend to move the monitor back and forth, the cables could and most likely wouyld hold the monitor and it may be difficult. I myself have a butt load of cables hooked up to my mutiple systems behind my desk, and sometimes they are a little short. I think it might have worked out better if they built the ports in the stand itself at the back of the bottom. I think this is where the previous imac is supperior since it is harder to see the cables since they are not dangling from the back side of the monitor.

The other thing is the power button on the back. I dont like having things on the back of computers, espeacially when someone has never used, and they dont know where everything is, the back is the most unlikely place to look.

The one other thing was the amount of white space at the bottom of the monitor opposed the the top. I might think it would have looked a little better, and a little more proportional, if the had put a little more space on the top of the monitor and had the screen be a little higher off the table or desk.

Just thoughts, espeacially since i will most likely never have one, i have a powermac.

A lot of people are complaining about the excessive bezel at the bottom...you complain about now but if you actually used one/get one..after a while you will get used to it and wont even notice it hardly. Thats how I was with my first Studio display. The excess plastic was annoying and distracting but eventually I didnt even notice it after a while..its just one of those things that go away over time. I hope they start shipping the Imacs soon. I just got an email from apple and the wording sounds like they will be shipping in a few days?. Hopefully they will be if not then i'm sure it will be worth the wait.

If you look at the Apple design page you will see why the bottom is bigger.

I believe after you see it in person, most would think differently.
