Are you kidding? AbsoluteZero is the devil in disguise silly...

JUST KIDDING AZ!

Sounds like a great idea, provided it comes with extra bionic fingers...

Well, in addition to a (non-Apple-)standard 3-button-wheel-mouse, most people have a keyboard...mine has 109keys (or buttons :D ) and that's more than enough!

Abs, you need 8 buttons on your mouse for all this?! What the **** are you doing with your other hand then?!? (...I guess I don't REALLY want to know...)

My thing is, the Bluetooth mouse (I was under the impression it had right click before, just with the one-button look to it, guess I was wrong) is so cool looking and convenient that I can't help but get it. Even though I have the Logitech MX mouse on my PC, and I use like 5 of the buttons for Counter-Strike, on my Mac I might just get the Power volume knob. The only thing about it is, I wish they made a white plastic one for the iBook instead of one that only looks good with the PowerMac.

One thing I love is the volume control on the Logitech wireless keyboard. As a newbie I never imagined it'd work on the Mac, but I've been educated through experience since then ;)

Really useful too! The thick outer shell's great for keeping all that hot ash safely away from flammable materials.

My god hype.it what have you done?

Don't let steve jobs see that desecrated one-button mouse, he'd make your mac fight back...

I can't do without at least 3 buttons on my mouse - right & left click, and double click. Also need the scroll wheel. Gotta have it!!

Oh, almost forgot to mention, my mate ordered his Logitech MX1000 yesterday. He'll probably be using it by the time this message is posted.

Maybe they should move the mouse pointer thing to the keyboard and have that as the mouse. then at least you'll have 103 keys to use.

I have an 8 button mouse and routinely use 4 of the buttons, because it has thumb buttons for "forward" and "back" functions in my web browser windows. The mouse has buttons for "cruise control" scolling which are great in long text docs and scroll-intensive websites (like this one!!) The two buttons I almost never use are the one below the scroll wheel and the "application switcher" button because of its location (practically under my palm.)

I found that on my powerbook (which I got first) I had no trouble at all using a single trackpad button and the keyboard.

When I got my mini, I attached a microsoft scrollmouse (i,e. 2 buttons plus scrollwheel), and on that machine I use all buttons (middle button is expose all windows).

Now with my powermac I find that single mouse button plus keyboard (standard mac mouse) is HORRIBLE. The need for ctrl-click is much less intuitive with a mouse than trackpad, for some reason I don't quite understand. Also the tracking of the mac mouse is shady to say the least, and the plastic... well I don't like touching the mouse, basically, its just _nasty_ feeling.

The mac keyboard, on the other hand, is lovely; nicest keyboard I've ever used. (us programmers are picky about keyboards too)

So; a grand mouse-hunt ensues...

Edit: Oh my god - its only _now_ occurred to me to swap the mac mouse onto the mini, and the MS one onto the powermac. Doh!

I mainly fall into the #4 category. I use 5 buttons religiously. I could not live without the forward and back thumb buttons while using a browser. Whomever mentioned getting (2) MX700'S I totally agree. I have two of them, and one is always in the cradle ready to go.

Get a track-ball to operate the mouse pointer with your left foot and a gamepad extreme for everything else and you'll never look back. ;)
