aif > mp3 converter

Hi,

I am looking for a free converter to change files i create in reason, they come out in wav or aif format and are huge if i want to send them to friends anyway i had software on my PC to do this but it doesnt work on mac so can anyone recommend one?

I beleive that iTunes can convert aif files to mp3. I don't know about wav files.

If you're Terminal savvy you can use the command line program bladeenc (http://bladeenc.mp3.no/) which will convert every .wav or .aiff to mp3.

Of course, you have to compile it with the developers kit, but it's how I encode all of my .wav and .aiff files.

i just stuck it in itunes and changed it to that format, the guy im sending them to has a mac aswell so its ideal! brought the size down from 42mb to 2mb and that was only half a song!

You could also use switch as someone mentioned earlier. it asks you to pay for it (might be shareware), but i have been using it well past the initial "trial" period without paying yet...
