I bought an Acom external hd-160, firewire...I've never used a separate hd. Any advice for using it with itunes, imovie, iphoto?

For iTunes
Go to iTunes -> Preferences -> Advanced
For the location select your external hard drive
Click OK
Go to Advanced -> Consolidate Library...this puts all of the music into the HD and you are set
