adjusting adium height

I originally had it set to "size to fit vertically" but have since disabled this. But I still can't adjust the height for some reason -- it still takes up the whole vertical space. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

close the categories you do not need to see at any particular moment.

I tried that but the window is still stretched all the way to the bottom...
