- 2013 iMac 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7/32G Ram Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB, iPhone 6
I've been lurking in the background for some time, and just today ordered a refurbished 2013 iMac i7, 8GB ram, 3TB Fusion Drive, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB memory from Apple.
I will be using the computer for CAD work, and routine office as I am a building designer.
I would like to upgrade the RAM in the computer, but do not know the best place (or type) for purchasing ram, and how easy it is swapping out ram in this desktop. Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
I was an Apple guy for years having cut my teeth with the Mac back in '85, had one of the first PowerBooks (165C) and several Performas (638, 6400) over the years. I switched to PC's 12 years ago as the software I needed for work was only for PC's and have decided to switch back after years of having issues with PC's. I've gotten up to speed with OSX as I've had a mini for about 3 years which I use as a media center. The last OS I had worked with prior was OS7.
Again thanks for any assistance!
