I own a 2007 MacBook and am running OSX Yosemite. When I click on the apple icon and select "About My Mac" nothing happens. Can someone please advise me how to get this to work again and/or how I can obtain the MacBook info? Thank you!

Try option-clicking the Apple and selecting System Information.

Look in Applications/Utilities and see if System Information is in there.
If it is, see if you can run it.

Well,, that's you problem then. If you absolutely have to have it (and who knows what else is missing) then at the least you're looking at a combo update and maybe a system reinstall.

cradom - I didn't know there was a combo update for Yosemite??? It looks like maybe a Time Machine backup then clean install of Yosemite might be the way to go. If the OP did an upgrade or possibly got a bad download, that might be why system info is missing.

Yeah, we're looking at a backup and reinstall.

Make sure you have a good backup.
Restart and hold down Option until you get a drive selection screen.
Select the Recovery disk.
Install Yosemite.
