a through h on keyboard not working, HELP!

For some reason the a through h on my iMac keyboard stopped working. I tried searching the Apple discussion boards but am having trouble even finding them, are they still available? Anyway, I'm at a loss with a teenager needing to do homework so any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
I have a 2011 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 running 10.9.4.

I of course don't know for sure but it sounds like something may have been spilled on the keyboard. A new Apple wired keyboard for a 2011 iMac is $49.00 at Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, and of course your local Apple Store. I would just purchase a new one and then caution everyone who uses the iMac about being careful and not eating or drinking around the computer.
