A new internal HD

I'm contemplating an internal HD for my G4 MMD. Here are the specs:

Will this work, plug & play? Particularly, the size dimensions have me buggered. The Apple info I have is very specific about the size of the drive. Any troubles?

According to MacTracker it should work. The expansion bays in your MMD are designed for 3.5" drives so it should fit OK. As far as it being Plug N Play, like most compatible hard drives it will have to be partitioned and formatted before you can use it.

You raised this issue of overall physical drive casing in another post, here http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/apple-desktops/198234-wanting-new-internal-hd.html, in which inch measures were quoted. [Please don't double-post, rather, add to your previous one.]

I've measured the dimensions of an external Hitachi ATA drive (mm): 145(D) x 101 (W) x 24 (H).

Comparison: Western Digital - Hitachi - Difference
(D) 147, 145, +2
(W) 101.6, 101, +0.6
(H) 26.1, 24, +2

I don't think you're going to be bothered by 2 mm.
