John, I also worked for IBM, on the consultant side. I helped one customer install a huge raid array for his AS400 system in a national retail store headquarters. They were skeptical at first because of the cost of the raid array, but the first time a drive failed and all the tech had to do was to pull the bad drive out and put another one in, with zero downtime for the failure or the swap, they got convinced! Fun times! (Ancient history, too, but fun anyway.)
