The G4 minis support 1GB DDR PC2700 RAM. That is all they support.

Yup, there are currently no known 2gb sticks that work in the G4 Mini. Sorry.

Mmm.. Ok.. Because I have 1GB of ram in my iMac that specifically said 512mb max when it was first released. They just didn't have memory modules that large back then. Seems like the same should be true of the Mini.. Maybe I can find a computer store that would be willing to conduct a science experiment for me. ;)

As you found some models, generally the early iMacs, will support more RAM than Apple specifies but none of the usual reference sites list the mini as doing that.

well.. if you have the g4 mini.. you would need to pay for a 2GB chip. as that machine only has 1 slot. and those arent cheap...

well that.. and you are jumping from pc2700 up to pc2 4200 at least. as pc2700 does not come in 2gb chips

Yeah, very pricey.. Might be why it's never been attempted..

The problem is not cost (have you seen what some people do with their Mini's? They put more money into them than some drag racers put into their cars).

The matter is of whether or not the Mini will recognize it; amd unfortunately the G4 Mini won't.
