It didn't take long for them to show up. However, in case anyone has not been following the latest complaints about the 2017 27" iMacs.... Numerous users in various forums including MacRumors and the Apple forums have complained about the noise level of the cooling fan. Noisy even at idle (1200 RPM). Some folks have returned them because of the noise.

My 2013 27" iMac is very quiet and even the 2011 iMac I used to have (which had three fans) was whisper quiet. I've been thinking about getting another 27" iMac with a large SSD but the noise thing has turned me off for now. I think I'll wait to see if Apple acknowledges a problem or not.

Sounds like it may be time for a 27" iMac redesign. That design + potentially greater heat generation from newer CPU's & GPU's...may mean some rethinking is needed. May not bode well for the iMac Pro.

Those refurbished have Radeon m395 graphics. None of the models for sale on the regular store site have those.

That's because the 27" iMac's with the m395 graphics hardware are from 2015. The Apple refurbished store many times lists models from current & former releases.

This thread is in regards to 2017 27" iMac's hitting the refurbished store (the refurbished 2017 27" iMac's are only a portion of all 27" iMac's listed in the refurbished area).

My 2009 iMac has finally been limited by a couple of things that I want to do with it, so it might be time to upgrade to a newer model. The machine however is still very capable and will serve my daughter well (she's got the mid-2009 24" iMac C2D) since it will be quite an upgrade for her..

Note... not everyone who owns a new 2017 iMac is complaining about fan noise, however, there have been enough complaints about it posted on various forums that does give one caution about making the purchase. Apple does have a 14 day no question asked return policy in case you happen to get a noisy iMac. I don't know about Fry's, however. Fry's has always had a fairly strict return policy especially when it came to items on sale. I usually avoid Fry's unless it's something I can't get elsewhere. We have three stores here in the Dallas - Fort Worth Metro area.
