2011 MBP 15" back removal

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)

The USB at top right has become lose and doesn't always connect so I want to see what's going on.

All the videos I can find about removing the back say "remove the ten Philips" screws but the ones on mine are definitely not Philips, I think they are Torx??

Can someone please confirm this, and what size please?

Which MBP do you have? You put 2011 in your title, and Early 2013 in the post, a little confusing.

Here is the ifixit.com page for the Early 2013 MBP, check out the repair guides, they will have the specific screw dimensions for each step.

I had a Late 2011 MBP and I can confirm the screws are Phillips head screws, so you most likely have the 2013 model.

Silly mee! I thought it was a late 2011 but then when typing I checked the "About this Mac" and it is a late 2013.

I've just found that the screws are "Pentalobe". Is that the same as Torx I wonder as I've just ordered a set of Torx!!

No, Pentalobe are not the same as Torx. You'll need a different set than what you've ordered..
