You're using the wrong memory modules in your MacBook which is very likely the reason it's going into kernel panic. You can not use faster memory designed for a faster bus in that machine without upsetting the timing. Here is what your machine is designed to use:

8.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots 2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Yank out those modules and put the correct ones in and your panics should stop.

I assume that the Mac restarts at random? And the fans are running and it is not overheating? I know you said you did a hardware test but it still could be that as unfortunately they can be hard to track down if it is random. I suspect memory if it is hardware. I also assume you have your clean install of Yosemite up to date too - 10.10.2 ?

Things you can try - an SMC reset and a NVRAM reset.

NVRAM: How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

SMC: Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) - Apple Support

Can't hurt and it may fix your issues. You have made major system changes and these will clear out any old stuff that could be causing issues.

Missed that chscag! I suspected memory but did not look up the specs for that machine.

I thought it may have been the ram as it seemed to only occur after I upgraded. I will put back the original 2GB. Will have the current ram installed cause damage to my MB when it kernal panics?

No, the current modules you have in there won't cause damage but the constant kernel panics are very annoying as I'm sure you already know. ;) Buy the correct memory for your MacBook. It's the aluminum model which can actually run the latest version of OS X Yosemite. Your MacBook can actually take 2 x 4 GB modules = 8 GB.
