All went well for me. My heart is always in my throat while I wait for the double restart. I have heard no popping.

Did you run the Disk Utility fixer-upper from the DVD or try fsck -fy with single-user startup

i dont know how to do either of these, but im ASSUMING you need to be able to see the screen for it to work.....and the problem is THERES NO SCREEN :(

I noticed a longer startup this morning...but I'll have to restart to see if that's something involved.

Yes, it is an update to further revolutionize 10.4.10. It just keeps your system up to date with new features and plugins.

Same here! The sound is much lower on my MacBook after the update. I can't hear any sound until I get to the 3rd or 4th sound bar! I've tried listening to music using iTunes, through my headphones and I can't say I've noticed any popping noise yet.

I've now noticed the popping noise on mine :( It happens right before a sound is played. If you leave your Mac running with no sound playing for a few mins, then adjust the sound volume setting, you will hear the sound right before the normal beep.

Maybe Apple sneaked a popping-sound fix into the lastest Safari security update. Anyone notice?
