Looks exactly the same in Catalina. But the version is 14.0.

So, what has changed with the Big Sur version?

Does it? I wasn't really using it back in Catalina. It was really intended to be a reply to krs's post about Ghostery. I thought given Safari's built in anti tracking defences it might be doubling up.

I guess we kind of expect Safari to be better than the competition. After all, it's tweaked for macOS having been developed by Apple. But sometimes the competition gets a bit ahead and comes up with things that we like better than what's available with Safari.

Even though I use Safari only occasionally, I still keep it as my default browser and find myself going back to it more often.

Don't sell it short. ;)

You know the only thing I really don't like about Safari is the UI. The font is too small on the tabs and bookmarks bar and the layout is just so different from what I'm accustomed to that I find myself constantly searching for the button I want to press or the tab I just opened. As far as function goes I can't fault it. In fact where other browsers fail to render a site Safari usually does. It is my "go to" whenever I have a problem with a web site but it is not my default browser of choice.

Rod I have started using Brave which is a lot more friendly than when first released.

The latest Brave installed here version 1.17.73 has Bookmarks Bar identical to Safari. Odd I was having trouble with the 'Safari can't open the page'....whereas Brave never fails. You do need a 'go to' second browser for, as the Irish say...'to be sure to be sure'.....

Well I know my vision is going but the Brave browser is a lot easier for me to see than Safari:

Brave at the top obviously. Full address in the search window, coloured icons for Bookmarks bar, larger font and clearer white on black rather than grey etc.

PS. I just discovered there is a setting in Safari preferences to change font size (no smaller than...) and to show full address in search bar. So I stand corrected on that.

Those options have been around as long as Safari has been around. But anyway, better late than never Rod. :p

Just teasing you....
