I went to my local Best Buy this morning about 10 mins before the store opened and there were about 20 people in line. The manager came out with over 150 call tickets for all models and all carriers. He said, "No more than two per person." I got tickets for two 32 gig WiFi white, and a black one. I went back at 5:00, stood in line for about 25 minutes and walked away with both units and two grey smart cases, no problems at all.

My brother said they sold out of every model by 730 and they sent literally 1000 people away empty handed...

I got very lucky- I arrived at my local WalMart around 2pm, waited for 3 hours but got the white iPad 2 16GB that I wanted Was 1st in line!

3:30PM Scottsdale Quarter Apple Store, Scottsdale, AZ. At least 200 people in line. Apple gave umbrellas (free? or loaners?) to those on the sunny side of the building.

It's much cooler in the shade earlier in the day. For instance, here's a shot from 7:45am today. Snapped it on my iPhone as I was dropping my wife off at work.

I'm a little surprised there are still lines before doors open 5 days after release. Must be due to short supply.
