I have searched for this answer and the only answers I found were for earlier mac minis. I did also find this link: https://www.intelmactemp.com/list which seems like a source for this answer, but I have mac mini i5 with 2.8 GHz which is not listed.
So what is the ideal idle temperature for a mac mini with 2.8 GHz i5 processor (late 2014)

I don't think any of the Mac-Mini's in the link are 2014 models. I think the newest listed may be 2012. There are some differences between 2012 & 2014 Mac-Mini's...so I wouldn't say the 2012 Mac-Mini numbers are guaranteed to be the same for a 2014...but probably a good guide (50ish °C at idle).

Do you have concerns?

I presume that's in degF. You should make sure that there's enough airflow around the Mac Mini and depending on the age, you might have to clean it out. The fans will kick into high gear when needed if the temps get too high.

If that "112" is °F...then that's only 44.4°C (lower than what's mostly listed in the link).

Please notice that the temps in the link are in °C...but can be switched to °F if desired. The devil is in the details.:)

Yea, that was Fahrenheit, I just switched it to Celsius and it is 51°C which is double the ambient temp for the 2.5GHz i5 (even though I have a 2.8 GHz) so I guess I should clean my mini or something because that sounds to me like a problem. Is there a guide or something where I can see where I should clean?

That doesn't sound like an excessive temperature for that Mac nor do I know what temp sensor that is.

Here's my iMac's temps screeshot that I run a bit cooler than Apple's settings using Macs Fan Control.app:

For any guide, see ifixit.com, but is your Mac hot to touch?? If not, it's probably OK. 51C is not hot for a computer chip.

Again not correct. The "ambient temp" column on that chart refers to room temperature...NOT computer temp. Room temperature/environmental temp can be an important factor regarding how warm a computer runs. A 65°F room temp and a 95°F room temp can make a big difference.

You should be focusing on the chart column listed as "Idle". There's absolutely nothing abnormal with your Mac-Mini temps.:)
