Hi All
I wonder if anyone has an answer to my problem. I want to connect my 2007 mac mini(lion) to my tv with hdmi. I found an active converter which combines vga and audio and is powered by usb and outputs hdmi. Well, as you all know, the output from my mac is dvi. I have a dvi-i to vga adapter connected, but the unit doesn't give anything but a black screen. It gives video fine using a dvi-hdmi adapter. Is something missing from the vga output of the dvi-i adapter? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Connecting two adapters in line will not work. You're trying to convert DVI to VGA to HDMI which will result in the no video (black screen). Use the DVI to HDMI for video and then use a separate connector for the audio. Your TV should have an audio input: L R The Mini has an audio output jack. You just need to buy the correct cable.
