Hello everyone,
I have been thinking about getting a new video editing software and I'd like some advice.
At the moment I'm using iMovie 09 on Mac OS X 10.6.x but lately it's not enough I looked around and a lot of people seem to vouch for FCS and FCE both wonderful software but kind of expensive for me.
The main thing that bugs me about iMovie right now is the fact that it's very limited.
I have a lot of .FLV videos on my computer I used to be able to use Quicktime to change the type to .MOV in order to import them to iMovie but recently Quicktime hasn't been able to run .FLV videos and so I'm stuck. I would get some type of a converting software but I thought I could kill two birds with one stone and get a better editing software. Basically, I'm looking for a software that's able to run more video coding.
The other thing is I'm looking for a software that can do more i.e merge video clips together (as in video in video type of thing), more video effects would be nice, and more video adjustments such as video brightness what what not (I know iMovie does those but they aren't sufficient to my needs).
Most of what I do is fan made music videos for fandoms and such. So, audio is also important. Thought I doubt that's a problem.
If you could lead me to a software that does all of that AND cost less than 100$ would be great if not I guess I'm going to have to save up for FCE.
I've seen the iLife'11 upgrade, is iMovie'11 any good?
Also while I'm posting this, how is it to use FCE? Have any of you had any type of issue with the software? performance-wise? What are the cons?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Sorry this was long.
