So i am currently looking at getting a Power PC G5 to run as a home server, i can get one cheaper form ebay if there is no OS on it and buying the OS seperatly as i am finding lots of people on ebay are selling with O/S but no disc which i dont like.

So i have figured out the highest OS i can go on a power pc is Leopard right?

But i have seen some sellers talking about part numbers of the leopard disks and it only works on intel machines is that right or is any leopard disk good for a power pc?

Hopefully that makes sense.

Your Mac's Specs
20" Intel iMac 2.4 Ghz/3G Ram/320HD, Snow Leopard. PBook G4, 1.5Ghz/1.5 Ram/250 HD, Leopard 10.5.6.
Leopard 10.5 is fine on all Powrr Pc's, it's just Snow Leopard that is Intel only. So look for a generic Leopard DVD (Black face, Big silver X) and you will be fine.

Yes you are correct...OS 10.5 "Leopard" is the "highest" OS you can run on a "G5" computer.

You want a "black" OS 10.5 install disk with a big X on it...NOT the grey ones.
