- 27" Imac, 3.06 ghz processor, 1 TB HD, 256 meg ATI Graphics card
Hi,
I have an iMac 27" that I normally use and a Macbook 13" 2.4 ghz I purchased for my son. I needed a notebook computer myself so I picked up a used but older Macbook with the Duo core 2.1 ghz processor. Not sure of it's exact age, but I was told it was a 2009 model. Anyway, it has OS-X 10.5 Leopard on it and I was wondering if I could upgrade it to the Snow Leopard OS 10.6.6 I have on the other two Macs. I have the original disks that came with these two newer Macs. This used computer does not have it's original discs so I was curious if I can use the original disc that came with one of my other two machines to load the current operating system on this used Mac I bought. This used machine has 1 gig of ram and a 120 gig hard drive. Also, is there really that much difference between the 10.5 and the 10.6.6 operating systems? I plan to use this computer pretty much only for working on the internet via a wired network connection at work and my wireless (airport extreme router) at home. Is the older OS compatable with WPA2 used in the current Airport Extreme router?
