I'm looking to add an external Thunderbolt 3 SSD to my new iMac. Any suggestions and any I should stay away from?

I've been using Samsung T5 SSDs (USB c connection) for a while now to house photo and video files with zero problems (touch wood). They are fast and reliable. Prices seem to be coming down now too.

I also use a Samsung T5 512GB USB-C SSD for my CCC backups. I was able to purchase it on sale from a large distributor in NY. The Samsung X5 is likely the fastest TB3 SSD out there right now, but way too expensive for me.
