Hi guys, I'm looking at a couple of iBooks on eBay Australia, and I would love to get a second opinion on a couple of machines.
Machine #1:
Apple iBook G3 12", 900mhz, 40GB, 256mb, DVD ROM/CD-RW
32MB VRAM/2 USB ports/Firewire port/Ethernet port/Built-in 56K modem
Machine #2:
The Apple G4 iBook 12", 800 MHz, 384MB of RAM, 30GBdrive, DVD/CD-RW
32MB VRAM/2 USB ports (USB 2.0)/Firewire port/Ethernet port/Built-in 56K modem.
I'm wanting to use my iBook for basic video editing on Final Cut Pro, nothing spectacular though, just something to take on the road and integrate with my home Mac. And...I don't care about the hard drive space, I'm only concerned with the speed of the machine.
So which is better? An 800MHz G4, or a 900MHz G3? What is the fundamental difference between the two processors?
And how much is the most I should pay for either? I think the prices are pretty good so far, but I'd like to know!
Cheers
