Just a quick thank you to the Admins for providing a nice Animated Fireworks Display on the website to help celebrate your July 4th Independence Birthday, even though I am a Canadian in Canada, the fireworks are a nice touch.

Yes, that can be easily turned on/off as you prefer I generally watch the holiday-related fun for a bit and then turn it off. My setting is off by default because I find them a little distracting. Right-click your avatar to bring up the Account Details page an a new tab or page>Preferences> scroll down to the last setting in content options.

I'd say the bats at Halloween drive me "batty" but that just wouldn't be right, would it?

I'm based in the UK and enjoy the animated fireworks, especially as 4th July is my birthday!

Thanks for the info Sly, but I don't seem to have that option in the Google Chrome version I am using:
An older version 103.0.5060.134 (Official Build) (x86_64) if interested, but I sort of enjoy the fireworks.

Hopefully were checking account preferences for Mac-Forums (as opposed to Google Chrome preferences).:)

I was right-clicking on my avatar at mac-forums and this is what I see as options:
Screen Shot.png

Am I missing an option or two???

Anyway, not to worry as things seem to work okay otherwise.

EDIT:
It's okay, I found the settings under my member name under its Permissions:

  • Disable holiday styling
That seem to disable the fireworks GIFs when I gave it a try, and they returned once I enabled it again.

So the option is available if I actually needed it thanks, and I was looking in the wrong place to set the options.

Patrick, judging from your screenshot if you choose open in a new tab or open in a new window I think you get the page I mentioned. If you left-click it should take you directly to the appropriate page in the window you are currently in.

I think I corrected it now to avoid further confusion.

Just be sure to turn off the Holiday Animations for Christmas. Those falling snowflakes could accumulate at the bottom of your screen and lead to all kinds of chaos. ;)

And dampness - water and electrics don't go well together:LOL:

Right-Clicking will give you options for Google Chrome.

Probably easiest/quickest way to access Mac-Forums account preferences...click on your username in the red navigation bar at the top of every page (towards the right). Within there you have a bunch of stuff to choose from...including account preferences.:)

Thanks Nick, that is the one I ended up using that worked which I also made a Edit note of in my #12 post.

Thanks for the follow-up.

I guess there's not much choice of seasonal decorations now until Fall and colorful falling leaves or the following Halloween celebrations with ghosts and goblins or so.
