I had that preference turned off previously, but saw the snow anyway. For whatever reason, I had to turn it off again.

Yeah, we apologize for that but we just had a software update for our forum software which apparently has reset some preferences back to the default. :sd

I LOVE the snow! I like that Mac-Forums has personality, and that we aren't just here dryly talking about computers. We feel the personalities of everyone here, we enjoy hearing from everyone, we even exchange jokes! In these times of Covid, and political polarization, we all need more humanization, and I'm grateful that we have it here.

A big thanks to everyone who makes Mac-Forums great!

I have no issues with a nice white coating that shows up and leaves shortly. It can stick around long enough to give that beautiful white sparkly look to everything and then just melt quickly.
I do not like the snow that requires me having to shove my husband out the door to run the snow blower and/or bobcat to clear the driveway while I shovel the walk! I also hate it when turns all grey and slushy.

BTW: I am really not complaining - just not quite ready for winter!

I thought iI had a visual disturbance at first . It's 30 deg C here so a bit odd. Nonetheless its a nice seasonal touch but I will be turning it off too. It's even more distracting that the bats, especially in Dark Mode.

Try again Rod. This time when you put a check in the box that says "Disable holiday styling", don't forget to SAVE your new preferences. 🍷 🍷

I wouldn't have guessed... Thanks.
A nice change from the rivers of rain we have been hit with lately in SW BC. Just don't let any snow pile up in our driveway...!!! 😇

EDIT: Hey... I just refreshed this page and the snow stopped...
This is what my settings showed, is this what it is supposed to be set to for no drifting falling snow flakes???

Screen Shot 13.png

Edit 2:
I just double-checked and triple-checked my settings and I don't seem to get any snowflakes anymore weather "holiday styling preference" is checked or unchecked. Saved and refreshed page each time, no change!!!

I thought it was a neat touch, but I guess I don't get any. Typical for our area, just a short snowfall...
😇

Nick - did you turn off the snow? I did not turn off holiday styling and it's gone....

I don't mind the snow on the forum - just don't want the real stuff. I wasn't complaining - really I wasn't - I really appreciate all your hard work that you do to keep this forum going.

Well, I haven't seen snow... on this forum. So, I guess my settings, just changed at Halloween, held.

But, I've seen the white stuff out my window! So far, not enough to stick around, but it will soon. Around here, December 1st is the average for the first 1" snowfall, as recorded at the airport. So, we won't be waiting much longer. However, it usually melts away. More often than not on the 25th, the faded green grass remains visible.

Son of a gun... I guess it did. And I thought it was going to look so pretty outside and we just bought our christmas tree yesterday for this year which is sitting in the carport so it would look right at home if it had got some snow all around it

At least it looks like the rivers of rain have let up here, at least for a while and providing a bit of reprieve.

Thank God we live on fairly high ground on a small rocky hill. Others haven't been as lucky.

Been watching all the rain you guys and the Seattle area of Washington have been getting. Almost looks like Monsoon season. Better rain than snow and ice! Stay dry.

I'm not so sure about that Charlie, at least as far as the animals go, many can manage to stay on top of the snow but most cannot keep swimming or eat with that much water to stay alive.

Regardless, is has been very devastating for too many.
