You're making a claim that this is widespread. Perhaps it would be better to start with your problem. Do you have any Bluetooth peripherals?

I have only screen, keyboard and mouse connected to the G5, but I've lost interest in Mac Forums.

I am not sure which G5 model he has as my head is still hurting from trying to figure out some of the posts, but some G5 iMacs did that very thing and it was the iMac hardware itself. I wonder if he tried even zapping the PRAM or resetting the PMU?

Worked for my iMac G5.
