Hi I have a 27 inch Imac, running OSX 10.9.5

When I load safari it does not always load first time and I have to completely restart safari numerous times before my home page will load, it also sometimes freezes during usage.
I have tried Opera and this seems to work ok but I prefer to use safari.
I have checked the extensions in prefs as suggested on the apple site but there are no extensions in there!

Any ideas guys???

Without knowing how much memory you have or how much free space is available on your hard drive - which could be helpful - you could try the following:

1. Open Safari, click on Safari in the menu bar and clear history and website data.

2. Make sure you are running the latest version of Safari 7.1.8 for Mavericks.

3. Download Onyx and run the automation tab to clean out various cache files - which may do nothing for Safari but it will clean up your system.

4. Have you considered upgrading to Yosemite. 10.10.5 is very stable and with it you will get Safari 8.0.8 which might fix some issues.
