Quicktime won't play mpeg/mpg?!

I recently discovered that my quicktime 7.0.3 pro has started not playin mpg/mpeg files even though it was playing them fine before. it plays the video but it stutters and there is no audio at all. But VLC plays it fine. Does anyone know why this is?

has anyone else had this problem. I've tried reinstalling QT but no luck.

Yes I am also disapointed with Quicktime 30 bucks is also a rip off! But when I try and export movies for my ipod the stupid thing deletes the audio so I have to record it from RealPlayer then export it AUUHGGGGhHH it makes me so mad!!

I just solved my problem, I downloaded window media player for OSX and now the mpg files play in quicktime. It must of been a corrupt .mpg/mpeg codec or something. But it works. :thumbsup:
