Problem with Contacts in Outlook

iMac-2004 15"MacBook Pro-'08, 17" MBP-'09
When I use the search function, I get a "no results" message instead of the name I"m looking for. A previous version (Office 2004) returned the name/vcf card. Now, all I get is an alphabetical list by 1st or last names.

I use a MBP, OS el Capitan, and Office 2011.

I have tried "Help", but no joy. Can someone help?

What "Search" function are you using, specifically? Please provide step-by-step details of how to reproduce your problem if you are able to.
