blackscooby, I LOVE your Peugot! I love all of those old cars that the Group B monsters were based on. I may be selling my WRX to buy a commuter for my new job and was considering getting an old Renault Turbo5 as a toy. :D

You would have loved my old Rally weapons then. Starting with a UR quattro of 1984 era.

Completely standard. THE best car I've ever owned.
urq_via_sm.jpg

Followed this in 1998 with a 1994 Impreza (was standard UK spec which was 208hp). Soon modified for competition with Cosworth forged pistons, hyrid T5 turbo with cut back blades etc.... running 32PSI boost :batman:
Completely nutty, but cost a fortune to run at around 16 or 17MPG which in the UK is total madness. Fuel bill was something like £80 ($150) per week and this just commuting to work....

The Peugeot doesn't have the hp shove in the back that the Impreza did, but it weights only 1600lbs.

This was my first car, a 1985 Honda Accord in excellent condition. Bought it from an old couple who were the original owners...

You're my new idol. :D An acquaintance has an Audi Quattro turbo like yours but red with the white gravel stage rims that's putting down just a hair over 400whp. The thing is scary fast. My goal over the next four years is to import a mid 90's Ford Cosworth Escort RS. IF I can get it past the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles (which is pretty tough since they were never sold here in the states. A Cosworth Sierra would be nice as well; talk about a sleeper here in the states, none of the Mustang owners would know what hit them.

A friend of mine who also competes ran an early Sierra Cosworth for several years in competition. Completely modified with around 500hp and a turbo the size of a large trash can ! Now he runs a Mitsi Evo

Jonathan-Mounsey_EVO_Orchard_srh.jpg

Broke the class record for the event at the last outing. Only his 2nd time in the car !
Completely stupid specification. Was mapped originally on special turbo fuel which we are not allowed to use in our events. Lost 100hp when taken back to "road" fuel.
Rumours are rife about this motor.... Most reliable rumour is 600hp.
Uses full launch control, traction control and passive ALS (not the flame popping BANG BANG ALS, it just growls on the over run). It's totally ace to watch :)

Of all the Cosworths I'd go for the most original Escort Cosworth you can find, preferably a "Monte Carlo". I think these came in Aubergine and are as rare as rocking horse sh*t in the UK.

Edit: Aubergine = Egg plant in US

Wow, what a beautiful car. I love pics of cars bumping off the "curbs." The Monte Carlo (like the one in the picture below) is exactly the RS I would like to import, but any of the MK5's would make me happy. There is a company in SoCal that has been known to import a few MK5 RS Escorts; I jost hope they are still doing so when I can actually plunk down the change to pruchase one in the next four years. My main worry is that by that time it will be next to impossible to find a decent one to import that hasn't already been modified. In the meantime I am on the lookout for a Turbo 5 like the one pictured below. Luckily these were actually imported into the states for a short time, so they can be purchased locally from collectors. My Father's friend's neighbor (long list I know) collects them and may be willing to sell be a prestine one with less than 50k miles. Fingers crossed he asks for a reasonable amount. I can't wait to se what kind of looks I get driving one of these around in California. :) Despite my what my current car would suggest, I'm nt a big fan of the Japanese rallye cars (I just own one because that's all we import to the States) and am trying to find any way possible to get my hands on SOME euro rallye model. I saw a Lancia Delta the other day and I shed a tear...
