Hi board members

Can I insert text into a specific cell when the formula is in another cell?

eg, I'm in BM13 and want H13 to show transaction details based on the results of BL13

using this "if" doesn't seem to give me anything other than "false" in BM13

=if(BL13=TRUE, H7="excess funds put in Saving Account","")

It seems this is not possible. Is there another way to do this? I don't want the formula in H13 - this is my "description" column and having a filled down formula here would render the column useless for other descriptions.

Cheers, Mal

What results are you getting in BL13? If it is a logical statement, then this might work. But if it a numeric result, then this will always indicate false.
