Newbie with a question

Hi all sorry if this is a stupid question but I wanted to make sure. I just got a 20" iMac yesterday. Its running the Intel processer and currently has 10.4 installed. It did not come with the restore disks and would like to wip it and start fresh. Can I put snow lepoard on this computer? I am pretty sure I can but I want to maks sure. Thanks in advance.

Now to answer for you .......Yes you can if you buy the box set as  has recommended

But there has been reports that it can be done with the $29 version but there is still some conjecture out on that

Thanks for the quick reply. I already have the snow leopard disc so I will upgrade this weekend.

I spent the morning wiping the hard drive and installing 10.6 and iLife 09 and transferring all of my data over from my windows computer. Now I have 2 macs a desktop and a laptop and I am giving my windows computer away to my neighbor. I can now proudly say.......i switched to a mac!!!!!!!!!!

haha he would love a mac but money is tight and his current computer is a POS so i offered him mine.
