i have a MBP, if i buy an iMac or another Mac. then sign in, will i be able to download all of my purchased programs on my new machine? i have attached a pic to show the investment.

Yes as long as you log in with the same account information used to purchase the software. The licensing for software purchased through the app store allows use on more than one machine. I believe the restriction is as long as the machine is controlled by the person who purchased the software

Say I migrate to a new Mac. Will I be able to take my App Store purchases with me?

As mentioned above, when you move an app to another Mac, you might have to enter in the login information of the purchaser. If you have that info, you’re all set. You can also just re-download all your apps straight from the Mac App Store (as long as they’re still available) by logging in on the new Mac and checking the Purchases tab.
