Hi everybody! I'm Nick, and I'm happy to join the community.

I haven't been using Apple stuff for a while now, but I've just got an iPhone 13 pro max 256 GB and want to make sure I know about all the updates.
Back in 2009, I used to own a 27" iMac. Then I sold it and switched to Windows but now I'm planning to make come back because I miss some of the features and I also think that iMacs look better than most Windows PSs. Still not sure though because I've got quite an expensive gaming PC and it would be a shame to exchange it for something less worthy.

Anyways, I will be happy to share something I know and get tips from more experienced users. Glad to be here.

And we are glad to welcome you here.

Welcome aboard, Nick. Always good to have a new face around.

BTW, if you're a gamer I can forgive you for the time you spent wandering in the Windows wilderness. :)

LOL, yes:) I've spent quite a lot of time in the virtual world, but now I think my journey there is over. It was fun, but I want to focus more on my career and hobbies at the moment.

Gaming was fun, but now I want to develop my photo and video editing skills, and I've heard that Macs are pretty good in this regard, especially when it comes to the correct color rendering.

Hi, and welcome, but do you have a name we can use. :)

I would think we could use "And_y" unless they want to supply another name for members to use. That seems to be the username they chose... :sneaky:

No mistake at all. Being a courteous bunch here, we like to address folks according to their own wishes.

For example my posts are under IWT, but I sign off as Ian.

Thank you!
Is there something wrong with my username? I'm not a very experienced forum user, what's the mistake, please tell me.
Sorry, did not mean to offend, I am happy to address you as And_y, just thought you may have had a name that you may prefer.

Hi Jane! Ask as many questions as you like, that's what we are here for.

If you are new to the Mac, these resources might be helpful:

Apple has free beginner tutorials:

These third party free tutorials are also very good:

Jane welcome, I have only been a Mac user for 5 months and this forum has helped me immensely, though do remember to include you Mac model and OS, or update your profile, as the solution can vary according to what you are using

A warm welcome to Mac-Forums, Jane.

The two previous members have covered everything I would have said.

Remember, there is no such thing as "a stupid question". There can be "stupid answers" - I know, I've made a few myself:);)

Hello to all you forum members. I am a previous long time Linux user who just bought his first Mac. Mac OS is interesting and new to me. I setup my new Mac Mini M2 yesterday. I also have an iPad Mini 6.

When I have questions about Apple and Mac will seek help here if needed. :)

Welcome to the forum. Poke around a bit and I'm sure you'll discover lots of useful info.

I'm already a bit jealous. Your gear is newer than any Mac in my house. :D

Welcome, I moved from windows 6 months ago, and the forum is full of those answers that do not seem available, and are simple (once you know the answer), so ask away, somebody has usually got the answer(s) often more than one solution.

P.S. when asking a question your model and OS is always good, but if you add to your profile, the details are always available ;)
