Newbie here needing some advice (as usual).
I need to transfer some files from my old 7100/80 Power Mac running OS 9.1 or OS 8.5 to my iMac running OS 10.7.5.
I read in several forums that it can and can't be done. Since there is no Appletalk on the iMac I read of a way to activate the ftp with bash and that didn't seem to work. When I tried to deactivate it I got an error of "launchctl: Error unloading: com.apple.tftpd".
The commands that I used were:
To start it type the Terminal command:
sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
To stop it:
sudo -s launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
Have I messed anything up?
Is there a way to link these two computers together to transfer files?
