I picked touchscreen iMacs, because I said BOLD predictions. It wouldn't be fun if I just picked the easy ones:p I just think with the iPhone "pinch" to expand photos and the "flick" to scroll thru iTunes they may tye to wow people with touchscreens. If I'm wrong I'm out nothing.

While I agree with Kaido that the LED changeover will be a cool item and will be out this year...it's not going to be in everyone's hands just yet. It's going to be way too expensive...for the time being. So yes, they'll release it...but it's doubtful that people will all rush to get it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as attacking you. But now that you mentioned the iPhone...I think it would be cool to have an iPhone-style remote input device for an iMac. Vista actually has a feature like that called SideShow, which utilizes a smaller secondary display for data and "widgets". Here are some pics:

While I was searching for SideShow info I came across this app, pretty nifty:

I hope they don't do touch screen imacs. I really don't want one of those. My kids fingerprints on the TV are bad enough as it is!

I do hope for various things being released during WWDC, but with the iphone coming out and their developers working on the new OS im not sure how much time they will have to devote to either upgrading or re-designing the imac untill after the iphone is released. Although im fairly certain after reading all the articles related to the MBP that they should be upgraded :)

I take back my comments about the touchscreen iMac. I just finished watching the promo video of the new Microsoft Surface touchscreen and I can see some really neat ideas being implemented with a touchscreen iMac, especially in the multimedia department. With the appropriate swivel hinge design, I can see it being useful as both a touchscreen and as a regular monitor with a normal keyboard. Here's the video: (18 minutes long, 65 megs)

Maybe that's why iLife 2007 has been delayed so long...:D

my predictions: iTunes sales update, movie sales results (new deal signed with someone), iPhone is ready to ship, MAJOR macbook pro update: 20" macbook pro with Nvidia GPU, Multi-touch technology throughout the laptop lineup (eventually all but at least the pro models for now), LED backlighting, proc upgrades with the new Santa Rosa, iLife '08 including a new spreadsheet app, iPhone, one more thing...leopard preview showing off secret features (finally).

all sounds right except the ipod nano sizes. MAYBE a 10 or 12 gb but not a 16gb, that is just weird.

just because Apple have developed multi touch doesn't mean theyre gonna spark this whole 'touchscreen computer revolution'. What is the point in a touchscreen computer anyway!?

Smurfy,
Multitouch is sensors, NOT A TOUCH SCREEN! Just like a touchpad or clickwheel on an iPod. They are utilizing a new "patented" software interface (that they developed) and new sensor technology improving on existing touchscreen usability. They didnt invent a screen that does what multitouch does. The screen is just a screen (and a mighty high res one at that).

stock splits are amazing things...let's hope that happens for apple AFTER I buy their stock later this year. ;)

(I used to have Rockwell Automation stock...it split back in 1998, and it netted me $6000. No argument from me ;) )

I have decided to believe that apple will update the MacBook pro. I say this mainly because I'm in the market for one and I want to get one with some new updates. :p

Since they said there would be LCD screens by about now I agree with Sachsr1 that this will come at the WWDC. It seems about right that they'll bump the speed at the WWDC too since it's really one of their last 'big' opportunities to bump it up before a major overhaul if that happens at the end of the year.

Like I said, I really only say all this because I want this to happen, but it's going to happen eventually right - Jobs always likes to have a 'surprise' upgrade - we all know about OS 10.5 - apart from some features, and he already went over the iphone features.

Not sure about touch screens (in general) though. although it would be nice.

Haha I agree with macpan, I'm in the market and planning to get mine in august so there must be updates. Hopefully for sure santa rosa and LED screens. We'll only know in 7 days. If the MBP was upgraded would they raise the price? I hope not.
