My iPhoto library has about 20 000 pictures and I have been reading about creating multiple libraries. iPhoto is slow to start and takes its time when using it.
Running 10.8.3 with 8GB of RAM with 35GB free out of 500GB. iPhoto version is 9.4.3.
I have not tried some of the recommended things from other threads, such as this list from here.
1. As always, make sure your backup is up to date.
2. Launch iPhoto with the option and command keys held down.
3. Check every single checkbox. Leave it alone for a while and let it do its thing.
4. Not required, but I like to restart my machine after this.
5. Fire up iPhoto normally and see how it does then.
But...if I do create multiple libraries how does it work when I want to attach a photo to an email? I know that I can send photos from iPhoto itself but my work process is to attach them from Mail. Checked the Apple Support pages but nothing answered my question.
