I believe the term would be "open"? But we really should get back on topic. Do you think Apple will at some point start adopting the practice of dropping prices in between product line refreshes? It might help their image in the pricing area.
Every once in a while Apple will do a slight price drop. However, there is a reason why Apple doesn't need to drop prices with each revision, and that's because Apple doesn't sell the older models, only the newer ones. Since it's new technology, it costs the same as when the previous model was brand new. You can find older models on Apple's refurb section for less than when they were new, but otherwise it makes sense as to why the base Macbook will always be $1099/$1199 regardless of how many revisions it goes through.
I'm not even going to get started on how wrong it is because I'll probably get neg-repped and told to "go back to Vista" by some anonymous Mac fanboy again.
