Hi guys

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro that today has decided to not turn on at all, tried a few buttons but nothing worked so opened it up removed the battery and turned the Mac on which worked perfectly.

I know the battery is dead as wouldn’t hold a charge So would have to plug the charger in all the time. but wondering why it’s Not starting with the battery in all of a sudden?

Can I use the Mac all ok with the battery removed?

Prob need a new one where would be best to buy one in the UK?

Thanks

Update

Put the battery back in and it powered up, strange as battery was all connected as the battery level button at the side would light up

Is your 2019 MacBook Pro still under warranty? A MacBook Pro this "new" shouldn't experience battery issues like this.

Sorry, but cannot explain the strange behavior, but if not already done, download Coconut Battery and check the status of your laptop's battery - can also be used for iDevices. Good luck - Dave :)

By the way...is this definitely a 2019 MacBook Pro? Replacement batteries for 2019 MacBook Pro's are not easy to find (I did some quick searching...and couldn't find one). And usually they're not that easy to remove.

I agree with Nick. Batteries on newer MacBook Pros are glued in and removing them especially on a new machine can actually void the warranty.

OP: Are you sure this is a 2019 model?

...Put the battery back in and it powered up,

It sounds as though you may have done a type of SMC reset, which possibly fixed its bootup problem.

+1... With the same question...????
