My white Macbook (purchased in September, 2007, running Tiger) is having problems with my power cord. I plug it in, and the LED on the MagSafe connector alternates between being lit up (green) and not (black). The computer does not charge at all during this time. This only occurs when a battery with charge is in the computer. The cord stays black when an uncharged battery is inserted, or no battery at all is inserted. I have tried the cord on my brother's Macbook, and the problem persists. When I use another power cord, it works fine. I believe that something in the square white box portion of the power cord (term escapes me at the moment) is the problem, because alternating power cord components has resulted in that particular portion being responsible for the lack of power flowing. Any advice, or do I have to get it fixed at a shop / buy a new one?

Thanks in advance!

Buy a new one. Not worth repairing the old one.

Regards.
