macbook battery

my macbook is 33 months old. should the battery be shot ? i charge it and it only last about an hour. just now my screen went totally blank but there is still battery life, although it says that. should i purchase a new battery or is there a way to save the old one?:\

Download the free "Cocoanut Battery" app and post a screenshot of the info it presents in the dialog box. Chances are you need a new battery but let's wait and see what Cocoanut says.
