Hello to all,

I've just joined so that I can share my upgrade with anyone thinking of trying something like this.

It so happens that a 32GB(4x8GB) of Corsair Dominator Platinum ended up spare (spare?!, yeah I know!! LOL)
Anyway, whilst contemplating what to do with, it sounded like my Mac Pro was whispering... "here"...."here"
Why not, thinking what can happen?! Error beep message?!
Installed the Ram and there it was, working without a hitch.
The result is not just functional but a perfect match.
Mac has black motherboard and silver heat-sink etc and this ram is of same finish.
The photos will tell you all.

Did a Geekbench 3 run before and after.
It seems that the Mac took a slight performance hit in the memory department.

Technical specs:
Mac Pro 2009/Nehalem 4,1 but before even trying the ram I upgraded it to 5,1
Xeon W3520 Quad Core @ 2.66Ghz

Memory:
32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 Corsair Dominator Platinum with cool in-built led within the heat-sink
Speed: 2133Mhz but of course the Mac kicked this down to 1066Mhz (I'm happy that the ram went down this slow)
Timing: 9-11-11-31
Voltage: 1.65V
Kit/Part number: CMD32GX3M4A2133C9
Yes, the ram is not ECC but I'm not building a space rocket anytime soon!!

Might have to make a window mod for the side now!! :)

Hope this helps anybody contemplating some sort of crazy ram upgrade ;-)
