I recently purchased a new Mac and have a USB Super Drive from my previous Mac. I had to purchase an adapter to go from the new computer to the drive. Is there a way to see what the drive is doing IE; writing, reading or just standing by during the time when it is plugged in? I tried to burn music to a read/write CD and while it was downloading I could not see the drive to determine what song was being downloaded. I am using the ITune portion of the Music app.

I suggest you might find some assistance if you look at Post #2 in a previous thread:

This explains things which I hope you may find useful.
