I have a Black MacBook that I need to replace the keyboard on. I believe that I have version 2 of the keyboard. The volume controls are on the F3, F4,F5. I would like to replace it with a version 3 keyboard if possible.
My question is will the OS know what version keyboard is installed and remap the function keys etc to match the layout on the keyboard, or will the key continue to function as they did with the old keyboard (and not match the new markings)?
