It's a nice improved look for iTunes, very hip retro.

The nano looks cool but $249 for 4 gigs is alot, when you can get a regular ipod for $50 more at almost 4 times the storage.

I agree, I still don't want to sacrifice space for just for a smaller device. It's sweet though and I love the flash memory, but I'll stick with my 30gig iPod. I need the space since I use it to store files as well as music.

I just spoke to someone at the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

She said "they just came out like two seconds ago and they haven't told us when we'll be getting them."

So I guess no retail availability yet.

Where I work at Solutions Inc (AppleCentre Brighton and Hove) we have been told by Apple already "no more iPod deliveries for ~3wks". So... and this is the reason why, and we have a fair few silver, blue and pink iPod minis in stock.

In 3 weeks time we expect to have the new iPod Nanos in stock. However don't expect drastic price cuts on the older minis.

Some people will be pissed that they bought an iPod mini today!

Shipping time is 5 days for apple germany, so I'd guess you'll be able to get them in US apple stores this week.

They'll be sold out in 30minutes though ;)

Now, if they could just take the design of the Nano... and stick a flat keypad, a earpiece behind the screen and a mic on the base..... then we would have a cool iPhone. Engineering nightmare I'm sure... but a cool thought nonetheless.

Ugh hmm... the phone hmm...

1. 30 seconds for a 4MB file transfer
2. Side lights are kind of cool
3. Bluetooth headsets can only be used for calls :(
4. TransFlash memory.. never heard of it...
5. Airplane mode.. hey that's kind of cool :)
6. Nice camera
7. Excellent has, alarm clock, calculator, USB, bluetooth, Datebook, currency converter
8. Doesn't have notes, timer, stopwatch, or code memo
9. Rythm lights sounds pretty cool :)
10. Handsfree speaker

So I would be losing some things and gaining other things.. hmm.. I should compare to the razor :)
