The 12" PowerBook is the only PBook model that Apple says Apeture won't run on. I am not sure of the specifics, but it looks to be graphics card related; or the smaller screen resolution. Personally I don't see why it couldn't -- as it is Core Image compatible and hooking it up to a higher resolution screen may yield positive results.

But by going on what Apple says - they presently say no. You may find that in reality this is not the case.

I guess so, the reviews I have read so far haven't enlightened the issue any further.

If I was still working at the Apple Store I could probably have tried it out for you.

I have Aperture and it says on the box that it won't run on a 12" Powerbook due to the screen resolution. So, this begs the question of whether or not it will run on an external display.

Not sure.

Nope. It does a test of the system upon installing to see whether you can install it or not, and if you somehow manage to get it onto your system it does a check when you open the application to see if your system is compatible

Having searched around it seems there is no reason why it won't run on The GeForce 5200FX Go in the PB 12"; however the ways of getting it to do so are on the wrong side of the law :(

Personally, that is a little disappointing, given that in the new year I am looking to get a high resolution LCD screen; and max out the memory. I wonder what the actual reasons for Apple not supporting Aperture on these models is.

The GeForce5200FX is an incredibly weak graphics card. Yes it supports Core Image but just barely.
