yay, so I guess now I have a sweeter laptop for school. does this laptop run Aperture? or am I going to have to go and get a Powermac G5 or something? thanks.
The 12" PowerBook is the only PBook model that Apple says Apeture won't run on. I am not sure of the specifics, but it looks to be graphics card related; or the smaller screen resolution. Personally I don't see why it couldn't -- as it is Core Image compatible and hooking it up to a higher resolution screen may yield positive results.
But by going on what Apple says - they presently say no. You may find that in reality this is not the case.
I have Aperture and it says on the box that it won't run on a 12" Powerbook due to the screen resolution. So, this begs the question of whether or not it will run on an external display.
Nope. It does a test of the system upon installing to see whether you can install it or not, and if you somehow manage to get it onto your system it does a check when you open the application to see if your system is compatible
Having searched around it seems there is no reason why it won't run on The GeForce 5200FX Go in the PB 12"; however the ways of getting it to do so are on the wrong side of the law
Personally, that is a little disappointing, given that in the new year I am looking to get a high resolution LCD screen; and max out the memory. I wonder what the actual reasons for Apple not supporting Aperture on these models is.
